Commons made an explosive start to his Celtic career, scoring in the fifth minute of his debut against Aberdeen in the Co-Operative Insurance Cup Semi-Final at Hampden – just a day after joining the club.

He has proved to have an eye for a spectacular strike throughout his career, which started at Stoke, included a spell alongside Neil Lennon at Nottingham Forest and three seasons at Derby County.

The attacker bagged 14 goals in his first six months in Paradise and never requires an invitation to try his luck. He has continued that form ever since, and has proved to be one of Celtic's main threats in front of goal, despite often playing off the striker or on the wing.

Commons also scored the fastest SPL goal after just 12.2 seconds against Aberdeen in March 2013, beating Stokes' previously record of 12.4 seconds.
