Celtic closed 2010 with the signing of Freddie Ljungberg, one of the biggest names to have played in the English Premiership in the last decade.

The attacking midfielder was a class act for Arsenal, where he played from 1998-2007, during which time he earned 75 caps for Sweden.

Ljungberg was an international team-mate of Celtic legends Henrik Larsson and Johan Mjallby, with the latter, now assistant manager at Celtic, influential in Ljungberg’s move to Glasgow.

Ljungberg started his career at Halmstad, where he stayed for four years before moving to London.

A season at West Ham was followed by 18 months in America, split between a spell at Seattle Sounders and Chicago Fire.

Now at Celtic, the Swede follows a number of Hoops legends by donning the No.7 shirt.
