Samaras scored on his Hoops debut, coming on as a substitute in the Scottish Cup victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park and netting one of Celtic’s five goals.
He came to Celtic on a six-month loan spell from Manchester City in the second half of the 2007/08 season, but after helping the Hoops to their third successive SPL title he made the move permanent.
The Greek striker is often utilised on the wings but has a tendency to score some crucial goals, including the last minute overhead winner against Aberdeen in the 4-3 league match this season.
He also had an outstanding UEFA Champions League campaign, having scored in all five away matches before the club reached the knockout stages.
