    Academy Sports Psychologist

    (Full time, Permanent, Competitive salary)  

    Celtic Football Club is recruiting for an Academy Sports Psychologist within the Youth Academy. The role will be responsible for providing support throughout Celtic FC’s Youth Academy (9s – 23s). The role will focus on the design and delivery of the psychological program, embedding and normalising psychological support within the talent development process.

    Key Responsibilities

    • To create a player-centred environment & to influence at a cultural, training, team and individual level
    • To lead the psychological support across the Academy, including delivery of various sessions
    • To build psychological support into the daily practices of the development football environment
    • To promote the welfare and well-being of the players within the development pathway
    • To build an approach to enhance performance, focusing on building athletes mental skills
    • To build a lifestyle approach primarily focused on general youth development
    • To maintain a comprehensive and thorough database of work conducted with all Academy players
    • To educate players, parents and staff on the role of psychology within the developmental pathway
    • To assist with the development of the Academy Sports Science philosophy
    • To contribute to monthly departmental CPD and to the department’s research strategy
    • To follow Club policies and procedures to ensure safeguarding of all players within the Academy

    Skills and Experience required

    • MSc Degree in Psychology or Sports Psychology (or equivalent)
    • BPS Chartered or BASES Accredited
    • HCPC registered or working towards HCPC registration as a Psychologist/Sports Psychologist
    • Experience in the provision of psychological and personal development support
    • Knowledge of latest psychology research in elite youth environments and Project Brave
    • Previous experience working with youth athletes within an elite environment/professional sport
    • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team and within a busy/pressured environment
    • An appreciation of clinical psychology and formulation driven practice
    • Able to apply scientific knowledge in a variety of contexts to players of different ages and development
    • Organised with a passion for talent development and meticulous attention to detail
    • Excellent communication, presentation and team working skills
    • Positive attitude to an ever-changing, fast and dynamic environment

    Academy Sports Scientist

    Celtic Football Club is recruiting for an Academy Sports Scientist within the Youth Academy. The role will be responsible for designing and delivering Sport Science support to the junior and intermediate age groups (9s – 16s) and will focus on the athletic development for these ages. The successful candidate will be an integral member of an evolving team and will strive towards the overall aims and objectives of the Academy and Sports Science department.

    Key Responsibilities

    • To design and implement professional, world leading and creative athletic development sessions
    • To lead in the collection, management and sharing of maturation data
    • To collaborate with Celtic FC Coaches to create motivating and enjoyable environments and sessions
    • To lead training load monitoring for respective age groups
    • To liaise with subsections (nutrition, psychology etc.) to educate and develop players
    • To assist the development of Academy Sports Science philosophy
    • To contribute to monthly department CPD and to the department’s research strategy
    • To assist other departments staff and processes where applicable
    • To follow Club policies and procedures to ensure safeguarding of all players within the Academy

    Skills and Experience required:

    • BSc (Hons) Degree in Sport and Exercise sciences
    • Enrolled or completed a MSc in Sport Sciences / Strength & Conditioning
    • Experience delivering athletic development support to youth soccer players across different ages
    • Knowledge of the latest research and delivery techniques of youth athletic development
    • Knowledge of the use of athletic testing in designing programs in a talent development environment
    • Knowledge of appropriate methods of load monitoring for adolescent adults and exercise prescription
    • Experience delivering athletic development support to youth soccer players
    • Previous experience working within an elite environment and in a busy/pressured environment
    • Ability to coach and deliver scientific knowledge in a variety of contexts to players of different ages

    CashBack Gateway to Employment Employability Advisor

    (Fixed term 1 year)

    This is a key role within Celtic FC Foundation based at Celtic Park, Glasgow.  You will be an integral part of our CashBack Gateway to Employment Project working closely with colleagues and participants whilst maintaining the upmost integrity and confidentiality at all times.

    Key accountabilities:

    • Engaging and recruiting project participants
    • Supporting participants  and developing their skills through 1:2:1 interaction
    • Being a positive role model for participants and guiding them towards positive destinations, such as volunteering, training and employment
    • Promoting key areas of the project such as improving Health, promoting Equality, encouraging Learning and tackling Poverty
    • Ensuring that all paperwork is complete in line with specific deadlines
    • Working within the agreed project budget and towards set targets
    • Managing relationships with funders, delivery partners and participants
    • Ensuring safeguarding procedures are adhered to by all delivery staff
    • Promoting the ethos and aim of Celtic FC Foundation

    The successful candidate will have at least two years’ experience working within a Community Development or Employability environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, who can demonstrate flexibility and commitment to this role. Strong people management and interpersonal skills, with a passion for working within communities is essential. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are also a requirement. The post holder will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the many issues faced by young people from a variety of backgrounds, in particular young offenders and have the experience and ability to identify solutions that will support our participants going forward. A good knowledge of Microsoft Office & Full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.

    The successful applicant will lead the Club's central purchasing team, while taking a hands on approach in the delivery of the responsibilities below. MCIPS qualification is essential, with an underpinning relevant Business Degree being desired.

    Chef

    We are currently looking to recruit a qualified, experienced Chef to work within the hospitality operation, at Celtic Park.

    Reporting to the Head/Sous Chef, this role will entail all aspects of food preparation and food services. Rates of pay are competitive.

    Key accountabilities:

    • To prepare, cook and deliver food to the highest standard, in line with Chef’s menu and/or service brief
    • To keep kitchen areas clean and tidy, highlighting any maintenance issues or potential hazards to the Head/Sous Chef
    • To have an understanding of all kitchen procedures, food safety paperwork and the recording of wastage
    • To be passionate about food and maintain the highest company standards
    • To ensure customer satisfaction at all times

    Customer Services Operator

    Celtic Football Club is seeking experienced Customer Service Operators to work flexibly, as and when required, to assist with the day to day operations of the Celtic Ticket Office, providing world-class customer service to Celtic supporters and stakeholders during our peak periods.

    Key Responsibilities

    • To provide high level customer service and resolve supporter enquiries through the Ticket Office counter and telephone line
    • To process home match, away match and season ticket sales
    • To process payments and follow all daily banking procedures
    • To use the provided ticketing system to ensure accurate supporter records are maintained
    • To Print fulfil and post home and away match tickets
    • To adhere to the Ticket Office Policies and Procedures at all times
    • To assist in any area of Ticket Office operations as requested by the Ticket Office Operations Manager

    First Aid Stewards Required to Work at Celtic Park on Match Days

    We are looking to recruit staff on a casual basis as designated First Aid Stewards at Celtic Park on match days.

    This is a responsible and specialised role within the stewarding operation, with a focus on the health, safety and wellbeing of both children and adults.

    All stewards are eligible for additional benefits such as discounts in our superstore.

    A HSE First Aid at Work certificate must be obtained by the individual prior to work commencing. Other basic training will be provided.

    Duties include:

    • Assisting those indeed who may be injured or unwell.
    • Liaising with the full First Aid team as appropriate.

    • Answering questions from spectators
    • Helping people to their seats
    • General stewarding duties

    Work Experience & Internships

    Unfortunately we are unable to accept any more work experience or internship placements at present as we are now fully committed for the next 12 months.

    Celtic offers a rewarding and comprehensive week-long Work Experience programme for school pupils aged 14-15. This provides placements in five different areas of the business during the course of a week. These typically include the Ticket Office, Superstore, Pools, Hospitality and Visitor Centre. Very occasionally we may be able to accommodate pupils on a specific department of their choice, such as Multi Media or Finance.

    Celtic also receives numerous enquiries about longer-term placements and internships, paid and unpaid. Regrettably, we generally do not have the resources to be able to offer this kind of programme.
