Commons: Paradise is our 12th man

KRIS Commons is set for his first taste of the UEFA Champions League group stages, and it’s something he´s waited for since he started kicking a ball in earnest.
Celtic play host to Benfica in the opening fixture of Group G, and the on-form midfielder is looking forward to experiencing the unique atmosphere of Celtic Park on a European night.
"If selected and I get to play in my first ever Champions League group stage game, it´s going to be one of the most memorable moments of my career," Commons told this week’s Celtic View.
"Just the atmosphere and the whole experience is something I´m thoroughly looking forward to and hopefully we can all shrug the weekend´s result off our shoulders and get to the job in hand, put in a performance in and show the Celtic fans what we are capable of doing."
Commons believes it´s vital that Celtic maximise home advantage. Backed by a boisterous and partisan Paradise crowd, he believes it could be a key factor.
"From a personal point of view, I think if we have any hope of qualifying for the last 16, then we need to go out and try to win our home games and take as many points as we can at Celtic Park,” he said.
"When you have a fanbase as big as Celtic and who make so much noise it can be quite intimidating for teams to come and play their football. We need to exploit that, go out there and score goals.”
