Derby Daze magazine is a fantastic souvenir

By: Newsroom Staff on 27 Jun, 2012 11:09

ON May 28, 1888, the newly-formed Celtic Football Club played their first
ever game, beating Rangers 5-2. On April 29, 2012, the newly-crowned
Scottish champions took to the field for the last derby match, and beat Rangers 3-0.

In between these two impressive victories have been 398 other competitive
matches between Celtic and Rangers, and in an 84-page official souvenir
DERBY DAZE magazine, we look back at some of the most memorable
matches, moments, goals and greats from this fixture… not surprisingly, all
of them featuring Celtic success stories.

From that first match in 1888, when Tom Maley scored a hat-trick, Jimmy
Quinn’s treble in the 1904 Scottish Cup final, the three 6-2 demolition
derbies Celtic have enjoyed down through the years, the derby record of
Celtic managers and a derby A-Z, the magazine is packed full of great
Celtic memories.

We’ve got exclusive interviews with Bertie Auld, Murdo MacLeod, John
Hartson and Kris Commons on their derby highlights, while we look at
some of the 21st century Bhoys who have scored against Rangers.

And we look at just some of the great games down through the years – the 7-1
game, the 1969 Scottish Cup final, the night 10 Men Won The League and
Beachball Sunday.

The DERBY DAZE magazine is a fantastic souvenir of Celtic’s successes in
the Glasgow derby and there are plenty of precious moments to remember.
