Newsroom Staff
CELTIC players will wear black armbands during tomorrow’s derby match against Rangers at Ibrox as a mark of respect for former player, John Cushley, who died earlier this week.
John, who played 41 times for the Hoops between 1963-67, and who later returned to Celtic Park as the club’s Education & Welfare Officer, passed away on Monday, March 24 at the age of 65 following a brave fight against Motor Neurone Disease.
His funeral took place on Friday at St Bride's Church, Bothwell when past and present Celtic players joined mourners to pay their last respects.
The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Celtic Football Club are with John’s wife, Mary and his family at this sad time.
