first team stars head for the excelsior

SEVERAL first-team players are set to be included in the Celtic XI for tonight’s friendly against Airdrie at the Excelsior Stadium (Wednesday, July 25).

With the squad edging toward full fitness a number of experienced players will be made available to coach Willie McStay, including centre-back Bobo Balde, midfielder Thomas Gravesen, new-signing Chris Killen and Celtic’s goalscorer in the recent draw with Chicago Fire, Derek Riordan.

They will be joined by youth stars Jim O’Brien, Paul Caddis and Teddy Bjarnason for the meeting with the First Division side, which kicks off at 7.45pm.

The Celtic support will be housed in the East Stand this evening and admission prices are £10, with concessions at £5, with parking available at the Excelsior.
