THE premiere of the new DVD, ‘Faithful Through & Through: The Tommy Burns Story’ took place at Gilmorehill G12, Glasgow on Monday night.
Tommy’s wife, Rosemary, his children, Emma, Jenna, Michael and Jonathan were there, along with many other friends and family.
It was an emotional occasion, with many tears and laughter throughout the night as the story of a great Celt and a great man was told on the big screen.
And among those who were at the premiere, as well appearing in the DVD, were former Celts, Danny McGrain, Pat Bonner and Paul McStay, and Tommy’s life-long pal, Gerry Collins, while former Reading player and current Dunfermline boss Jim McIntyre was also there.
Narrated by Scottish actor, Peter Mullan, the DVD tells the extraordinary story of the boy from the Calton, Glasgow, who grew up in the shadow of Celtic Park and went on to be one of its most faithful servants, though, as Tommy Burns himself often said, he considered himself to be just a supporter who got lucky.
Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell said: “It was a special night and I think everyone found the film very moving. It really captures what Tommy was like, as a person, as well as a footballer and a manager, and there is still a great sense of sadness at his loss.
“I would like to thank Tony Hamilton, who wrote and produced the DVD, along with our in-house production team of Tam McKinley and Chris Hamill, for their hard work and dedication to this project.
“It was a tremendous effort by everyone involved and the club is proud to have produced such a fitting tribute to a true Celtic legend.”
The two-disc DVD, ‘Faithful Through & Through: The Tommy Burns Story’ is now on sale at Celtic retail outlets, other High Street stores or online HERE
