teddy bjarnason moves to norway

David Friel
CELTIC Football Club can today confirm that Icelandic midfielder Teddy Bjarnason has completed a permanent move to Norwegian side Lyn Oslo.

The 20-year-old was brought to Celtic in January 2005 by Martin O’Neill and earned rave reviews for a string of promising performances in the youths and reserves.

Towards the end of last season, he began training regularly with the first-team and made his debut against Hibernian at Easter Road in May 2007. He then followed that up with a place on the bench in the Scottish Cup final.

After signing a new contract during the summer, Bjarnason featured in Celtic’s pre-season tour of Switzerland, before being struck down by a foot injury.

With other players taking their chance, the Icelandic internationalist fell down the midfield pecking order and has now moved on to continue his career in Norway.

Everyone at Celtic FC wishes Teddy all the very best for the future.
