kamara: new bhoys will thrive on the pressure

Laura Brannan
DIOMANSY Kamara has only been in Glasgow for a week, yet he is already aware of the pressures that comes with playing for Celtic and it’s something that he believes he can thrive on.

The Senegal internationalist made his Hoops debut in the midweek match against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park, and while he was as disappointed as the rest of the team at the result, Kamara believes Celtic have the quality to quickly get back to winning ways.

“Pressure is part of football and it makes a big difference,” he said. “I’m so happy when I have pressure on my shoulders.

“I think when you play for Celtic there is always pressure. If you play for Celtic you have to win, you have to do well in every game.

“It doesn’t matter if you play against a small team or a big team, you have to play well.”

Kamara also welcomed fellow deadline day signing, Robbie Keane’s arrival at Celtic, and he says that the Irish internationalist will be a great success in the Hoops.

“Robbie’s a top-class player,” he said. “It’s nice to have this kind of player in your team and I think he can do well at Celtic.

“Everyone knows he’s a Celtic fan and it’s good for the team. When you have a top-class player in your team, you’re excited to play alongside him.

“He’s come here to play and score goals and this is the most important thing for everyone.”
