CELTIC supporters have had a first glimpse of the club’s new Nike away kit for season 2008/2009, which goes on sale next month.

The gold and green kit will be available to buy from July 3, 2008, but supporters can pre-order the new strip now, in official Celtic retail outlets.

With a stunning gold top, the kit is the perfect colour for the SPL champions, who lifted a third successive title on a dramatic last day of the season.

The kit uses Nike Sphere Dry fabric technology, first used by Nike in national team kits worn in the 2006 World Cup. This technology is designed to enhance player performance by wicking sweat through the material and away from the skin.

The fabric has a three-dimensional design with raised nodes on the underside that lift it away from the players’ bodies to reduce ‘cling’ and allow air to circulate, assisting the body’s own natural evaporation process.

On the inside collar of the shirt are the words: “It’s not the creed nor nationality that counts. It’s the man himself.” This is a quote that proudly demonstrates Celtic as a club open to all.

The kit will be available from July 3, 2008. However, supporters pre-ordering the kit in any of the official Celtic stores will receive £5 worth of TeamCard reward points.
