  • CELTIC are delighted to announce the signing of Tyler Blackett on a season-long loan deal from Manchester United.

The English defender joins Celtic from Manchester United to become Ronny Deila's sixth signing of the summer.

Blackett was presented to the Celtic support at half-time during the Bhoys league tie against St Johnstone, with the 21-year-old admitting he is looking forward to pulling on the Hoops.

Speaking to the crowd, he said: "I'm very delighted to be here and I'm just excited to get started.

"I can see that the fans have been great and I'm sure they will be great all season long so thank you to them."

Prior to his arrival at Celtic, Blackett came through the academy ranks at United before enjoying loan spells at Blackpool and Birmingham City.

Following his senior debut last season, Blackett was called into the England U21 squad, having previously represented his country at every age level.
