  • FORMER Celt Davie Moyes makes a welcome return to Scotland this week when he brings his La Liga side, Real Sociedad to St Mirren Park to face the Hoops on Friday night.

The ex-Everton and Manchester United manager made 36 appearances for the Hoops before forging a career in England that took him to the very top. Last season he guided the Basque club to 12th place in the league and like his counterpart, Ronny Deila, he will be aiming to build on his first season in charge of the San Sebastián side.

This is the last of the three pre-season games at St Mirren Park and it is in high demand with the lure of La Liga opposition and Friday night football being proving to be popular with Celtic fans

The match on Friday rekindles memories of when the two sides met in 1982. The Hoops recorded a 2-1 win at Celtic Park thanks to a double from Murdo MacLeod but it wasn’t enough to secure a place in the third round of the European Cup due to Sociedad’s 2-0 first-leg lead.

The game is also the last in the build-up to next week’s crucial first leg match against FC Stjarnan in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.

Tickets for the match, which kicks-off at 7.45pm, are available now priced at £12 for adults and £5 for concessions. Tickets can be purchased ONLINE, by calling 0871 226 1888* or by visiting the Celtic Ticket Office. Booking fees apply online and via the website.

Tickets for this match will be available online and via booking line until 2pm on Tuesday, July 7. After this time, tickets will only be available from the Celtic Ticket Office.

The Bhoys are back in town. Buy your tickets today.

    * Tickets booked online or by telephone are subject to a booking fee. Calls cost up to 13p per minute, telecoms provider dependent. Mobile and other provider charges may vary.
