    Tonight on the Huddle Online

By: Newsroom Staff on 21 May, 2015 16:59

  • GEORGE McCluskey is today’s guest on The Huddle Online. The former Celtic striker and current Academy coach dropped into the studio for a trip down memory lane as we mark the anniversary of the day 10 men won the league in 1979.

It was on this day, 36 years ago that George and his team-mates under manager Billy McNeill completed the most unlikeliest of comebacks when Celtic defeated Rangers 4-2 to claim the league title - despite the dismissal of Johnny Doyle soon after half-time.

We’ve got the goals from that game as George remembers how the comeback was kick-started and how the celebrations continued long into the night.

Elsewhere, on today’s The Huddle Online, John Collins reflects on his first season as Celtic’s first-team coach and we congratulate our U17s on doing the double after they added the league title to their Glasgow Cup win.

Also, in a departure from our usual interviews, we speak to a rising star of the British boxing scene, lifelong Celtic fan and British Lightweight contender Scotty Cardle.

The 25-year-old was in Glasgow to discuss his upcoming title bout with Craig Evans at the end of the month and, as an added bonus, Kenny had the chance to go toe-to-toe with the hitman in the boxing ring. Take a look and see how he got on.

Finally, this week also marks the anniversary of a memorable title victory in 2008 when Celtic won the league championship against Dundee United at Tannadice in what was an emotionally charged tie following the sad passing of Tommy Burns.

Former Celtic striker Scott McDonald, offers his own recollections of the game in what was one of the high points of his Hoops’ career.

It’s all here on the channel of the champions, Celtic TV.
