  • Jason Denayer wins PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year

Jason Denayer wins PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year

By: Martin Dalziel on 03 May, 2015 19:51

  • JASON Denayer has capped off an excellent season at Celtic by being named as the Scottish PFA Young Player of the Year.

The Belgian defender joined Ronny Deila’s team on loan from Manchester City in the summer of 2014 and took no time at all to endear himself to the Hoops faithful with a goal on his debut against Dundee United in a 6-1 win at Celtic Park.

Since then the 19-year-old has gone on to form a solid partnership with Virgil van Dijk in defence and his performances for the Bhoys have also earned him international recognition with the Belgium national team.

Denayer scooped the prize ahead of Hearts duo Sam Nicholson and Jamie Walker and Inverness youngster Ryan Christie.

The Club congratulates Jason on his success.
