  • Kelly thrilled to lift Women's Player of the Year Award

Kelly thrilled to lift Women's Player of the Year Award

By: Newsroom Staff on 27 Apr, 2015 17:45

  • FOR the first time at the Celtic Player of the Year Awards, there was a presentation for the Women’s Player of the Year. And lifting the trophy this year was midfielder Kelly Clark.

Clark, who had helped the Hoops beat Forfar Farmington earlier in the day, was delighted with what she described as an unexpected award.

The Women’s Player of the Year Award is sponsored by Coco 5, and speaking of her accolade, Kelly said: I’ve only been at the club for a few years but I feel that I have grown as a player and the club have really brought me on, so I couldn’t appreciate it any more.

“When I first came here I changed my position because I was originally a centre-back, and I moved further forward into the middle of the park. I feel really comfortable there, so I suppose that this award does recognise my hard work.

“I was starting to fall out of love with football when I first joined Celtic, but over the past couple of seasons I’ve fallen back in love with the game and I look forward to training and playing every week.”
