Celtic welcome Derry Bhoy, Michael Duffy, to Paradise

By: Kenny McKay on 03 Feb, 2015 17:05

  • CELTIC are delighted to announce the signing of Irish forward Michael Duffy on a four-and-a-half year deal.

The 20-year-old attacker put pen to paper at Paradise following a successful trial with the Hoops, during which he bagged two goals in a friendly against Newcastle United.

Michael arrives from Derry City, having broken into the Candystripes’ first-team over the last three seasons.

And speaking exclusively to Celtic TV, the Irishman admitted that he was elated to have joined his Bhoyhood heroes.

“It feels amazing. It’s like a dream come true,” he said. “I came over here on trial just before Christmas and spent eight days here and saw two matches that I’d never been to before. It was brilliant.

“I’m now going to work hard and try my best to make an appearance for the first-team and make the fans happy. This is the club I’ve always supported and this is huge for me.”

In other Celtic news, Filip Twardzik has joined Bolton Wanderers on a permanent deal, linking up with former Hoops boss, Neil Lennon.

Filip made his first-team debut for Celtic against Peterhead back in January 2012, and he went on to make a total of seven appearances for the Hoops.

Everyone at Celtic would like to thank Filip for his contribution and wish him every success in the future with Bolton.
