Captain wants to end 2014 with a victory in Paradise

By: Mark Henderson on 27 Dec, 2014 09:01

  • BRIMMING with confidence and holding home advantage, the Hoops will be firm favourites to dispatch Ross County today and return to winning ways following last weekend's disappointment at Tannadice.

With ex-Celts like Lewis Toshney, Graham Carey and Mark Brown now plying their trade for the Highland side, there will be plenty of familiar faces in the opposition line-up for Scott Brown and his team-mates.

However, he will be doing his upmost to send them home disappointed as the Bhoys look to end the year on a high.

“I have played alongside them all and they are great guys but at the end of the day, once the game starts there are no mates in this game,” the Celtic skipper told the official matchday programme. “They will be the exact same way and will want to win but hopefully we can keep playing well.

After a period of adjustment to Ronny Deila’s tactics and style of play, the Scottish champions appear to be clicking into top gear.

“We have been working hard in training and developing every day,” said Brown. “It’s been hard work but everyone has enjoyed it and it’s been shown in the games – we are running harder and working harder than anyone else on the pitch and that’s been shown on the stats.

“It’s always hard to come in and go from one formation to the other and just play it. But we have slowly played our way in. We have worked through some bad results and came out better for it, to be honest.

“It would be great to end the year with a win, especially after having the fans supporting us over the Christmas period.”
