Delight as Scott Brown extends his stay at Paradise until 2018

By: Paul Cuddihy on 20 Nov, 2014 20:46

  • CELTIC are delighted to announce that Scott Brown has signed a new extended contract that will keep him at the club for a further four years, until summer 2018.

The midfielder, who is captain for club and country, is an inspirational figure for the Hoops and has led the team to three consecutive league titles. And he’s determined to make it four-in-a-row this season under Ronny Deila.

Scott joined Celtic from Hibernian in May 2007, making his debut for the club against Kilmarnock on August 5, and he has gone on to make nearly 300 appearances for the Hoops, scoring 29 goals.

Speaking exclusively to the official Celtic website, Scott Brown said: “It’s an absolute privilege to extend my contract with Celtic, a brilliant football club and with such incredible supporters. This is a place that I call home.

“Being Celtic captain is a tremendous honour and it is a role which I cherish dearly. The team is in a great place just now and we’re all right behind the manager and the backroom team as they build for the future.

“I will do all I can with the manager and all the players at the club to deliver the success which our supporters deserve.”
