  • We're pinning our hopes on volunteer collectors

We're pinning our hopes on volunteer collectors

By: Newsroom Staff on 29 Apr, 2014 07:27

  • CELTIC FC Foundation is holding a charity badge day prior to the SPFL Champions’ encounter with Dundee United on Sunday, May 11, 2014.

All monies raised from the badges will support Celtic FC Foundation’s community work tackling homelessness right here on our own doorstep and the greater Glasgow area.

To enable us to make this a huge success and to help us make a difference, we need the help of our Celtic Family.

If you, your friends or family can spare a couple of hours to volunteer before kick-off we’d love to hear from you. We need volunteers in place at the turnstile areas where supporters will be asked to make a donation of minimum £1 in return for a badge, which illustrates the new Celtic FC Foundation crest.

If you can spare the time, please email [email protected] and our co-ordinator will be on touch with further details.

    Why get involved?
Because 20 years ago, Fergus McCann took charge of the Club and sought to maximise Celtic’s potential as a football club and business but also, importantly, to recognise Celtic’s social dimension, with a return to supporting charitable causes in line with the founding principles of the Club.

In 1995, ‘Celtic Charity Fund’ was formed with the aim of revitalising Celtic’s charitable traditions. In 2013 Celtic Charity Fund and the Celtic Foundation came together to form a stronger Scottish charity with a wider role and greater reach which is called Celtic FC Foundation.

Two decades on and an excess of £7million has been raised with over 400 local and international charities, all of whom deliver work aligned with our own core values, also benefiting from your generous donations.

With the help of our supporters, our Celtic Family, we continue to honour those founding principles with a focus on improving Health, promoting Equality, encouraging Learning and tackling Poverty.

Help us help others. Together we can make a difference to the lives of others and be proud of our roots.
