  • Barca stars wish Celtic a happy 125th anniversary

Barca stars wish Celtic a happy 125th anniversary

By: Paul Cuddihy on 06 Nov, 2012 20:55

  • THE three best footballers in the world - Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez - took time out from training at Celtic Park tonight to pass on their best wishes to Celtic on this, the 125th anniversary of the club´s formation.

The three Barcelona players were at the stadium to train with their team-mates ahead of Wednesday night´s UEFA Champions League clash with Celtic. And they were delighted to be able to offer their best wishes, on behalf of FC Barcelona, to Celtic.

There is a great bond of friendship between Celtic and Barcelona, and directors of the Catalan club were at the special commemorative service in St Mary´s Church, Calton, Glasgow, on the 125th anniversary of day Celtic were formed - November 6, 1887.

And the gesture of friendship from Barcelona, and Xavi, Messi and Iniesta, is one that the whole Celtic Family appreciate. Both Celtic and Barcelona and more than just football clubs, and that is why there is such a strong bond between them.
