CELTIC defender Daniel Majstorovic has ruptured the cruciate ligament in his left knee during a training session with the Swedish national side today (Tuesday).
He was on international duty for Sweden, along with fellow Celt, Mikael Lustig, for the friendly match against Croatia in Zagreb this Wednesday.
Daniel will stay in Sweden for the immediate future and will have an operation there soon. Celtic´s medical team will be in close liaison with the Swedish FA medical team to ensure that Daniel receives the best of care. Unfortunately he will be out long-term.
It is another injury blow to the 34-year-old defender, who missed eight weeks of action earlier this season after fracturing his cheekbone.
Everyone at Celtic wishes Daniel a speedy recovery from injury.
