    ABERDEEN… 0

CELTIC’S reserve side produced an impressive performance to beat Aberdeen 4-0 in a closed doors friendly match at the Lennoxtown Training Centre today (Tuesday).

The Hoops netted three goals in the first-half, including a strike from Marian Shved, while substitute Armstrong Oko-Flex completed the scoring late in the game.

It took Tommy McIntyre’s side just five minutes to open the scoring, and it came from Cameron Harper, who latched on to a great ball from Karamoko Dembele before finishing coolly.

And just five minutes later, it was Karamoko who doubled Celtic’s lead, pouncing home to finish after the Aberdeen goalkeeper had saved a Daniel Arzani shot.

Celtic continued to press forward in search of another goal, with both Arzani and Karamoko coming close. And just after the half-hour mark, the third goal of the game duly arrived.

Daniel Church picked out Shved with a pinpoint cross, and the Ukrainian headed home to make it 3-0.

The Dons keeper again denied Arzani with a great save on 39 minutes before preventing Shved from scoring his second of the afternoon just before the break.

Ismaila Soro was replaced at half-time by Barry Coffey, though the Irish midfielder wouldn’t see out the remainder of the game as he picked up a red card for his reaction to a bad tackle on him in the 83rd minute.

Celtic had continued to control much of the second-half, although Liam Hughes in the Celtic goal produced a superb save on 68 minutes to deny the visitors a goal.

Five minutes after Coffey’s dismissal, Oko-Flex netted to complete the scoring for a 4-0 victory for Tommy McIntyre’s side.

CELTIC: Hughes, Savoury, Church, Hjelde, Welsh, Soro (Coffey 46), Shved (Oko-Flex 67), Henderson, Harper, Dembele, Arzani (Burt 67)
    Subs: Smith, Paterson
