Club awarded new Investors in People Accreditation

By: Newsroom Staff on 14 Feb, 2020 11:41

  • CELTIC Football Club is delighted to announce today that it has achieved the prestigious Investors in People Gold Accreditation.

For nearly 30 years Investors in People has been recognised internationally as a leading people accreditation. Celtic achieving this award is a terrific achievement, demonstrating a high level of commitment to its people.

One of world football’s greatest institutions, Celtic is a major Scottish employer, with over 1,000 colleagues working for the club across a range of functions. Together with our supporters, our staff have been crucial in delivering unprecedented success in recent years including eight consecutive league titles and a famous Treble Treble.

The IIP accreditation recognises employer excellence across a number of areas with Celtic receiving this fantastic new accreditation for leading, supporting and improving staff.

Among other indicators, it assesses an organisation’s abilities in managing performance, structuring work, building capability, delivering continuous improvement and creating sustainable success.

Commenting on the award, Peter Lawwell, Chief Executive of Celtic Football Club said: “We are delighted to once again receive this highly valued affirmation of the way we look after our staff. “Celtic has been synonymous with stability and success now across so many years and our colleagues have been crucial in achieving this.

"Our colleagues make a huge and crucial contribution in helping the team to succeed on the field and our business to flourish off it. We fully understand just how important all our colleagues are to the club and its ongoing success

"All our staff, across all our operations, are important members of the wider Celtic team and contribute hugely to serving our supporters and in keeping Celtic at the top of Scottish football.

“We have high staff retention rates with many colleagues enjoying long associations with the club. This loyalty and commitment demonstrates how much we value our staff and is something which will enable us to go from strength to strength.

"The fact that we are currently the only professional football club in Scotland to hold this accreditation is a cause for great pride.

“Like our supporters, our colleagues are everything to the club and its continued success. We will not be complacent and will continue to invest in and care for our existing staff and develop new talent to ensure that we remain successful.”

Bonnie Clarke, Interim Chief Executive of Remarkable, the organisation licensed to deliver Investors in People in Scotland, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Celtic, congratulations! Investors in People recognises organisations who are truly committed to their people, continuous improvement and customer service.

"We have supported Celtic since 2007 and we’re delighted to see their ongoing dedication recognised with this Gold award. Many congratulations!"
