Supporter Scott Set To Make It Five-In-A-Row At Celtic Sleep Out

By: Newsroom Staff on 17 Oct, 2019 10:19

  • WITH Celtic FC Foundation’s Glasgow and London Sleep Out events set to take place next month, there is still plenty of time to sign-up and support our 2019 Christmas Appeal.

Ahead of the events, Celtic FC Foundation spoke with a Sleep Out veteran, Scott Dunn, who is one of a number of supporters set to make it five-in-a-row for the Glasgow event. Scott spoke with anticipation, as he prepares for November 16 at Celtic Park.

In addition to the Sleep Out events, Scott, has also taken part in a host of fundraising activities in support of the Foundation, including the Abseil in Paradise and Hail Hail Trail.

Speaking of his association with Celtic FC Foundation, Scott said: “I initially became involved through the Sleep Out event, as I felt that it was important to raise awareness, in any way possible, of the current homelessness situation across the country.

“Through the event, I have met some really good friends over the years, who have had the same ideology and the same desire to raise awareness, as well as raise money for the Foundation’s Christmas Appeal.”

When asked why fellow supporters should get behind the Christmas Appeal by signing up for a Sleep Out event, Scott added: “If it wasn’t for the Christmas Appeal, many local homeless services may not get the help they so desperately need. The appeal provides invaluable support to so many organisations, who care for those who are struggling at this time of year.

“I would urge all supporters to sign up for the Sleep Out. At the Glasgow event you have the very rare opportunity to see the stadium, in a completely different way from that of a matchday, as well as being able to do something positive at the same time. I know that the London event is also a great occasion, which honours Brother Walfrid’s legacy at his former School.”

Celtic FC Foundation are, as always, grateful to Scott and the numerous fundraisers who have participated in the Glasgow and London Sleep Out events, over the past four years and we look forward to welcoming many more supporters to both Celtic Park and St Anne’s Primary School.

Registration is open for both Glasgow and London and all we ask is that you commit to raising a minimum of £130 (after £30 non-refundable entry fee) for Celtic FC Foundation’s 2019 Christmas Appeal.

    The key details are:

    CELTIC SLEEP OUT, LONDON

Venue – St Anne’s Primary School, Whitechapel

Registration – You can sign up HERE. Please ensure you read the Terms and Conditions before completing the process.

Due to anticipated severe weather conditions, these events will be exceptionally challenging, both mentally and physically. Therefore, participants must be aged 18+ and be in an appropriate physical condition to take part.

Celtic FC Foundation will provide a ground mat and foil sheet/blanket but participants are required to bring the appropriate equipment and wear relevant clothing and footwear.

All funds raised from these events will support our 2019 Christmas Appeal, which reflects the very essence of why our club was set up back in 1887.

The appeal will help local families and pensioners who face poverty and hardship and a number of charities who care for those experiencing the torment of homelessness or other disadvantage. So please follow in the footsteps of Brother Walfrid and help us make a difference to the most vulnerable in our community this Christmas.

A time to give and share, and the Glasgow Celtic will be there.

Thank you so much for your wonderful support.
