Team news: Fraser Forster makes Paradise return for Hearts game

By: Tony Connelly on 25 Aug, 2019 13:45

  • FRASER Forster will start for Celtic this afternoon (Sunday) as Neil Lennon’s side face Hearts in the Scottish Premiership. The 31-year-old goalkeeper returned to the club on a season-long loan from Southampton earlier this week and has been included in today’s starting XI for the Scottish champions.

In his four years with Celtic, Forster made 197 appearances and racked up 101 clean sheets.

The back four in front of the English keeper has one change from Thursday’s (August 22) 2-0 win over AIK in the Europa League play-off, with Nir Bitton replacing Jozo Simunovic in the centre of defence.

Vakoun Bayo will make his first start for Celtic, the Ivorian 22-year-old replaces Odsonne Edouard who is amongst the substitutes. The final change to Thursday’s team sees Olivier Ntcham start in midfield and Mikey Johnston moving to the bench.

Celtic have won nine and drawn one in their last 10 home meetings with Hearts. Neil Lennon’s side have also scored 12 goals in their first two league games and will be looking to continue their strong start to the new league campaign against a Hearts side who have picked up one point in two league games.

Kick-off at Paradise is 3pm. For all the pre-match build-up and live up-dates head to the official Celtic Twitter- @CelticFC
