    Academy Bhoys head out on season-long loans

  • TWO of Celtic’s Academy players have headed out on season-long loans. Robbie Deas has joined Championship side, Alloa Athletic, where he will be working with former Celt, Peter Grant, who is manager at Recreation Park.

    Robbie spent last season on loan with Cowdenbeath, but the 19-year-old returned to the Hoops and scored a last-minute wonder goal at Paradise to give Celtic a 3-2 victory in the City of Glasgow Cup final.

    Daniel Church was also in that victorious City of Glasgow Cup side, and the defender has joined League One side, East Fife, on a season-long loan. The 19-year-old will be aiming to help the Methil side in their bid to gain promotion to the Championship this season.

    Both players also helped the Hoops beat Queen’s Park last week in the first round of the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup.

    Everyone at Celtic wishes Robbie and Daniel all the best during their loan spells with Alloa Athletic and East Fife respectively.
