The Big Celtic View interview: This week, Ryan Christie

By: Paul Cuddihy on 07 Aug, 2019 09:52

  • EVERY week, the Celtic View brings you exclusive interviews with the first-team players, and this week’s issue features Ryan Christie as our main interviewee.

Here’s just a taste of what Saturday’s hat-trick hero is talking about in the View…

    ON THAT FLAG DAY TREBLE
‘The gaffer has told me to shoot on sight if I get the chance, which I’m delighted to hear. I was upset to blaze one over the bar early on against St Johnstone, but I’m delighted to have scored a hat-trick after that.’

    ON RETURNING FROM INJURY
‘As soon as we went into the competitive games, I just didn’t really think about it. After the first few balls are rifled at your head, you just head it instinctively. That’s it over and done with, so, touch wood, there are no problems going forward.’

    ON EUROPEAN CAMPAIGN
‘Last season, I had the taste of European football with the Europa League and I loved that, so I can imagine that the Champions League will be a step up and even better. So, personally and as a collective, we’re all desperate to make that jump.’

    GUESS WHO?
‘I’m always on to him about scoring and, to be fair, that’s the first time he’s been able to throw it back in my face. Normally on corners and every time I put the ball in the box, wherever I put it, he’s at the other side of the box!’

    ON THE SPOT
‘It’s something I’m confident about. If I wasn’t confident, I definitely would be saying no to the gaffer, but I’m delighted to be on it and hopefully I can keep Odsonne and Griff at bay!’

You can read the full and exclusive interview with Ryan Christie ONLY in this week’s Celtic View. It’s on sale from Thursday, August 8.
