Jullien starts for Celtic in Nomme Kalju Champions League qualifier

By: Joe Donnelly in Estonia on 30 Jul, 2019 16:30

  • CELTIC face Nomme Kalju in Estonia this evening (Tuesday) in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League second qualifying round. Neil Lennon’s men go into the encounter with a 5-0 aggregate lead, and the manager has made six changes to the side that won in Glasgow last week.

Craig Gordon starts between the sticks for the Hoops, while new Bhoy Christopher Jullien makes his first competitive start since signing last month. Olivier Ntcham also comes into the starting XI, as does Mikey Johnston, Lewis Morgan and Anthony Ralston.

Following his wonder goal in the first leg last week, striker Leigh Griffiths leads the line, while Odsonne Edouard, Ryan Christie, and Kris Ajer drop to the bench. Likewise, Scott Bain, Jonny Hayes, Scott Sinclair and Marian Shved all start in the dugout.

Despite his side's lead, Neil Lennon is determined to get the second qualifying round tie over the line. Assuming they do, they’ll face either Cluj or Maccabi Tel Aviv (Cluj lead 1-0 on aggregate going into tonight's game) in the competition’s third qualifying round next week.

Kick-off at the A. Le Coq Arena in Tallinn tonight is 6pm Celtic Park-time. The match is live and exclusive worldwide on Celtic TV, and new subscribers have until one hour before kick-off to register.

CELTIC: Gordon; Ralston, Simunovic, Jullien, Bolingoli; Brown, Bitton, Morgan, Ntcham, Johnston; Griffiths.
Subs: Bain, Ajer, Sinclair, Hayes, Christie, Shved, Edouard
