Soundtrack to the Treble Treble: Ryan Christie's Custom Playlist

By: Newsroom Staff on 13 Jun, 2019 08:59

  • EACH week throughout the 2018/19 season we asked one of the Bhoys to collate a playlist of their favourite songs for the 'Work, Rest & Playlist' section of the Celtic View. Check out Ryan Christie's tunes below.

    PRE-MATCH TUNE:

    Camelphat & Elderbrook – Cola

I like Camelphat – Cola before games, and also Avicii – Levels, and Chris Brown – Loyal. I’ve just got good memories attached to all of these songs. Particularly on matchdays – if we’re at home and pulling on to The Celtic Way, or away and driving towards the stadium – I always stick Cola on. As soon as that happens, it helps my mindset and gets me into the right frame of mind. As soon as that comes on, it’s like, okay, here we go.

    WORKOUT SONG:

    Anything by Drake

This is maybe a bit mainstream, but the bass and the beat are always good in Drake’s music. Although, I never get a chance to play my music in the gym at Lennoxtown. KT is known for his tunes in the dressing room, I don’t mind his taste in music, it’s a bit old school.

TUNE TO SING IN THE CAR:

    Jamie T – Sticks ‘n’ Stones

That’s a little more old school, for me. I’ll go with any of the one-hit-wonder classics. I don’t mind some Jamie T as well. From him, I like Sheila, I like Zombie, and another of my favourites of his is Sticks ‘n’ Stones.

    FAVOURITE CHILDHOOD SONG:

    Rod Stewart – Maggie May

I’d probably go with anything that my Dad would listen to here, like Rod Stewart and U2. It’s one of those things where I get to a certain age and I know all the words, probably just because certain songs have been played around me so much over the years. From Rod, I’d go with Maggie May. From U2, I’d say Where the Streets Have No Name.

    TUNE YOU HATE:

    Heavy dance music

Broony maybe takes the dance music in the dressing room a bit too far. His stuff is proper dance anthems. The French boys put on a lot of French music on sometimes, and while I wouldn’t say I hate that, as soon as I don’t know the words, or the meaning of the words, they kind of go over my head. I’m not too keen on that.

    RYAN CHRISTIE’S PLAYLIST:

    Jamie T – Sticks ‘n’ Stones

Toploader – Dancing in the Moonlight

    Paolo Nutini – 10 / 10

Rod Stewart – First Cut is the Deepest

    Fleetwood Mac – Landslide

Dire Straits – Walk of Life

    George Ezra – Shotgun

Paul Simon – You Can Call Me Al

    Ben Howard – Further Away

The Greatest Showman Cast – The Greatest Show
