Celtic fans get chance to play at Paradise and net goals for good

    By: on 19 Apr, 2019 11:01

  • IT'S every Celtic fan’s dream to score at Paradise. The post-goal celebration of how you’d mark that magic moment has been fine-tuned and rehearsed over the years. All that’s been missing is the opportunity to play on the hallowed turf – until now!

Main Celtic partner, Magners Irish Cider, is giving fans the chance to take to the field at Celtic Park on Tuesday, May 7 as part of new initiative Goals for Good.

Goals for Good will see Magners donate £1,000 to Celtic FC Foundation for every goal scored during the friendly at Paradise, made on behalf of each scorer.

In anticipation of a high-scoring (poor defending!) fixture, the donation will be capped at £20,000, the value that Magners donate to Celtic FC Foundation annually to deliver the Magners Employability Scheme. Details of the Magners Employability Scheme will be announced later in the year.

Anyone over 18 can enter to play in this fixture on Tuesday, May 7, whether you are an aspiring goal machine like Odsonne Edouard or outstanding defender like Kieran Tierney. Simply submit a picture or video of how you would celebrate scoring at Celtic Park to www.magners.co.uk/goalsforgood

Entries are open from today (April 19) until next Friday, April 26, allowing one week for potential players to send in their unique goal scoring celebrations. Players will be notified on Monday, April 29, giving time to prepare ahead of their big debut.

George Kyle, Head of Sponsorship at Magners said: "Magners Irish Cider is a proud supporter of Celtic FC. It’s great to be able to give fans the truly once-in-a-lifetime experience of playing at Celtic Park.

“Celtic was founded on charitable principles and the club’s fans are renowned for their overwhelming generosity and support of Celtic FC Foundation. We, therefore, wanted to allow this year’s players to know that by scoring at Celtic Park they will be contributing funds for Celtic FC Foundation and this year’s Magners Employability Scheme.

“I’d encourage all Celtic fans to submit their goalscoring celebrations and enter Magners Goals for Good. It’s a truly unforgettable experience and a dream come true for any Celtic fan to play at Celtic Park. We look forward to a high scoring and exciting match at Celtic Park on Tuesday, May 7, raising money for this great cause through the beautiful game.”

    Terms & Conditions: www.magners.co.uk/goalsforgood-terms/

Entry closes at 12noon on Friday, April 26.
