Brother Walfrid Community Lunch - Walfrid’s Wish

By: Newsroom Staff on 17 Apr, 2019 15:05

  • AS we commemorate 104 years since our Founding Father’s passing, Celtic FC Foundation once again hosted its Brother Walfrid Community Lunch in the Kerrydale Suite at Celtic Park to mark this historical occasion.

In keeping with Brother Walfrid’s charitable ethos and his vision of alleviating poverty in the community, 310 guests, many from the homeless and refugee communities were today welcomed to the dinner table at Celtic Park to enjoy a hot two-course meal.

After the lunch, over 100 of the guests were invited to take a tour of Celtic Park, visiting the boardroom and dressing rooms, and taking in the spectacular view of the hallowed turf.

Celtic FC Foundation continue to work with local charities and community organisations to help identify guests who can join us at Celtic Park for this lunch which take place twice a year.

April: to celebrate Brother Walfrid’s anniversary, and
November: to commemorate our club’s historical beginnings
