Arrive early for new lightshow! Celtic v Valencia matchday guide

By: Newsroom Staff on 14 Feb, 2019 08:01

  • THE stage is set for another unforgettable night under the lights at Paradise when the Hoops take on Valencia in the UEFA Europa League.

It’s an 8pm kick-off tonight, Thursday, February 14, with a sell-out crowd of green and white ready to create that world-famous electric atmosphere to roar the Bhoys on to victory in the first leg of their last 32 tie.

Brendan Rodgers' side have been in impressive form since returning from the winter break, winning all seven of their fixtures and scoring 21 goals with no reply, and the Celts will be looking to add to this impressive tally against the Spanish side.

Fans are advised to ARRIVE EARLY as we raise the tempo with the next instalment of the Paradise Lightshow before the Bhoys light up the pitch themselves at kick-off!

Here’s everything you need to know before the game:

    9am – Celtic Superstore opens
Pop into the Superstore on your way to the stadium for some last-minute matchday essentials. You can show your support with the official club UEFA Europa League half-and-half scarf, or choose from a huge selection of our new spring arrivals. From t-shirts to hoodies and rain jackets to shorts, we’ve got you covered no matter what the weather!

    10:30am – Ticket Office opens
Open until kick-off at 8pm for fans looking to collect tickets for this SOLD OUT fixture.

Fans are advised to arrive early, as queues are expected due to large crowds.

You can also plan ahead and secure your place at Paradise for the upcoming fixtures:

    - Celtic v Motherwell – Sunday, February 24 (KO: 3pm)

    - Celtic v Aberdeen – Saturday, March 9 (KO: 3pm)*

    - Celtic v Livingston – Saturday, April 6 (KO: 3pm)

Tickets for the Glasgow Derby at Celtic Park are on sale now to eligible Season Ticket holders ahead of the match on Sunday, March 31 (KO: 12noon)

    6:30pm – Stadium opens
Don’t forget to pick up your copy of the special edition official Celtic v Valencia UEL matchday programme – priced £5. The unique landscape-designed programme is filled with everything you need to know about the Spanish side, plus the Manager’s notes in both English and Spanish. The programme also features Celtic skipper, Scott Brown as well as Hoops legends, Paddy Crerand and Lubo Moravcik who both have memories of playing against Valencia.

The Paradise Windfall Superdraw is back and one lucky supporter will leave Paradise £15,000 better off on Thursday night!

Tickets are just £2 so look out for the Paradise Windfall staff wearing their famous yellow jerseys, ahead of the match. You’ve got to be in it to win it, and you could be collecting a cheque for a bumper £15,000 prize pay-out when the draw takes place on the pitch at half-time.

    7:45pm
Be in your seats as we plunge Paradise into darkness before bringing you the next instalment of the Celtic lightshow, and we will be raising the tempo with something a little bit different to get Paradise bouncing before kick-off.
Get involved as the lightshow comes to a close with a rousing rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone from the stands, as the teams make their way on to the pitch at 7:55pm.

Key technical details of the lightshow are available HERE

    7:59pm
We would ask you to please stand and join us in holding a minute’s silence to pay tribute to the memory of Emiliano Sala. The 28-year-old died in a tragic accident over the English Channel. Please show your compassion for the family and friends of this young man, whose life and footballing career was so tragically cut short.

    8pm – Kick-off.

*Please note – should Celtic progress in the UEFA Europa League, the date and time of this fixture will be subject to change.
