    CELTIC…4
    (Aitchison 44 & 59, Oko-Flex 51 & 70pen)

    FALKIRK…1
    (Lavery 20)

CELTIC’S Reserve side recorded an emphatic 4-1 victory over Falkirk this afternoon (Monday), with Jack Aitchison and Armstrong Oko-Flex both netting doubles in the well-deserved win.

With Bayo getting his first run-out in the Hoops, Tommy McIntyre’s side were on the front foot from the start, with former Celtic goalkeeper, Leo Fasan, denying the Ivorian striker after 10 minutes before producing a superb save eight minutes later, again from a Bayo chance.

However, the Hoops suffered a setback in the 20th minute when Shayne Lavery produced a nice turn and finish beyond Dorus De Vries to make it 1-0 to Falkirk.

A few minutes later, Celtic were forced to make a change when Wallace Duffy picked up an injury following a late tackle, with Jack Aitchison coming on and Mark Hill slotting into the right-back role.

And it was the Celtic substitute who grabbed the equaliser a minute before the break after he’d come close just minutes earlier.

It was a mazy run from captain, Kerr McInroy which created the chance, with Aitchison pouncing inside the area to finish. And the striker almost grabbed a second on the stroke of half-time, but Fasan saved well.

Into the second-half and it was one-way traffic as the Hoops pressed forward in search of another goal. That duly came on 51 minutes with a wonderful Armstrong Oko-Flex strike from the edge of the area.

Dorus de Vries was the quieter of the two goalkeepers, but he had to be alert just before the hour mark to deny Falkirk an equaliser, and within minutes it was 3-1 to Celtic.

Aitchison dispossessed a Falkirk defender before drilling the ball home at the near post, and he came close to a hat-trick in the 63th minute, but his shot went narrowly wide.

The 18-year-old striker was causing Falkirk’s defence plenty of problems, and he won his side a penalty on 70 minutes when he was fouled inside the area, with Oko-Flex stepping up to convert the spot-kick.

And as the game drew to an end, it was Celtic who continued to press forward, though they were unable to add to their tally of four goals.

CELTIC: De Vries, Duffy (Aitchison 27), Church, Welsh, Compper, Hill, Caffrey (Savoury 74), McInroy (Kennedy 74), Bayo (Mazis 62), Allan, Oko-Flex.
    Subs: Willison

FALKIRK: Fasan, Kidd, Robson, Reekie, Brough, McKee, Jarvis, Trialist, Todorov, Lavery, O’Hara.
    Subs: Dunne, Trialist
