Manager: Bhoys will always be busy in quest for success

By: Paul Cuddihy on 09 Jan, 2019 14:01

  • CELTIC played nine games in the month of December, taking their tally of competitive games in the first half of the season to 38.

That’s why Brendan Rodgers has welcomed the winter break, although he knows that when the season resumes later this month, it will be another intense period of games for the Champions.

“The schedule was crazy right the way through to the end of December,” the manager told this week's Celtic View. “It’s like that because we are successful, so that comes hand-in-hand. It’s important that the players had that bit of recovery time and then they can come out here to work hard.

“We’ll have another week when we get back and then we’re into a schedule of games that is a busy period, but that’s what we want. It’ll be great to get back to Celtic Park again and we’ll look forward to that game against Airdrie.

”It’s great for the players to play at home. The pitch is very good and it’s a fast game for us at home. When you have that backing and support behind you then it always inspires you.

“It’s always special playing at Celtic Park and it feels like a long time since we played there but we’ll look forward to that when it comes.”
