Celtic starting XI for Kilmarnock game

By: Tony Connelly on 08 Dec, 2018 13:45

  • BRENDAN Rodgers has tasked Odsonne Edouard with leading the Celtic attack against Kilmarnock today (Saturday) as the Hoops look to reclaim top spot in league.

A win this afternoon will see Celtic move into first place in the Scottish Premiership, and the French striker has been given the nod ahead of Leigh Griffiths, who will start the game from the bench alongside Scott Brown.

Kieran Tierney is missing from today’s squad and will be replaced by Emilio Izaguirre at left-back. Mikael Lustig returns to the starting XI after sitting out Wednesday’s (December 5) game against Motherwell, while the Croatian duo of Jozo Simunovic and Filip Benkovic retain their places in the heart of defence. James Forrest will also start in midfield after being rested in midweek.

Kick-off at Celtic Park is 3pm. All the pre-match build-up and live updates will be on the official Celtic Twitter- @CelticFC

Gordon; Lustig, Simunovic, Benkovic, Izaguirre; McGregor, Christie, Rogic, Sinclair, Forrest; Edouard.
Subs: Bain, Hendry, Gamboa, Hayes, Ntcham, Brown, Griffiths
