Delight as Ryan Christie signs new three-year deal

By: Paul Cuddihy on 12 Nov, 2018 15:35

  • CELTIC are delighted to announce that Ryan Christie has signed a new three-year contract. The 23-year-old has been in impressive form for the Hoops in recent weeks, with three goals in three games, including a stunning strike in the 3-0 League Cup semi-final win over Hearts at Murrayfield, while he also played a part in the stunning 2-1 victory against RB Leipzig last week in the Europa League.

Ryan joined Celtic in 2015 from Inverness Caley Thistle, though he remained on loan with the Highland side for the first half of that season.

Returning to Celtic Park, he made his debut on January 23, 2016 in a home game against St Johnstone, and made six appearances before the end of the campaign, where he netted his first goal in the Hoops on the final day of the season as the champions beat Motherwell 7-0.

He scored one goal in 2016/17 for Celtic before moving to Aberdeen on loan for the second half of the season, and he spent the whole of last season at Pittodrie, where he was one of the most impressive performers for the Dons.

This season he has played 15 times for the Hoops, scoring three goals in consecutive games, and will aiming to cement a place in the Celtic starting XI in the months and years ahead.

More to follow from Ryan Christie shortly on the official Celtic website
