McGregor: We want to keep building momentum with win at Dundee

By: Newsroom Staff on 31 Oct, 2018 09:31

  • HAVING booked their place in the League Cup final with an emphatic 3-0 win over Hearts at Murrayfield, Celtic return to Premiership action tonight when they take on Dundee at Dens Park.

The Hoops will be aiming for all three points ahead of a clash with Hearts at home this weekend, with the Tynecastle side facing a tough Edinburgh derby tonight.

And Callum McGregor is confident that the momentum the Hoops are beginning to generate domestically will continue tonight against the side currently propping up the Premiership table.

“There’s up to 60 games a season and you need to be ready for each and every one of them,” McGregor told this week’s Celtic View. “We will need to be wary of Dundee. Especially when teams play Celtic, it’s like a cup final for them and form goes out of the window. They raise their game and you need to match that, and hopefully our quality will take over.”

And the midfielder, who has been in impressive form this season, is also looking forward to locking horns with the current league leaders at Paradise on Saturday.

“It’s important for us to try and build on the semi-final win,” he said. “Every time Hearts come and play us, it’s like a cup final as they throw everything at you. You saw in the second half, they tired a wee bit and we kicked into gear.

“We want to try and start better in the game and if we can take from the semi-final performance, we can try and build confidence from that.”
