Liam Henderson signs for Italian side, Bari

By: Newsroom Staff on 17 Jan, 2018 17:31

  • LIAM HENDERSON has joined Italian Serie B side, Bari, on a permanent deal. The 21-year-old midfielder is a graduate of the Celtic Youth Academy and made his first-team debut for the Hoops against Motherwell at Fir Park on December 6, 2013, coming on late in the game to replace Scott Brown.

Liam has gone on to make 36 appearances for the club, scoring three goals. He won a League Cup medal in 2015 and has played his part in Celtic's three most recent title triumphs.

As well as his contribution for Celtic, Liam also had two very successful loan spells. The first of those, in 2015, saw him spend four months in Norway with Rosenborg, during which time he helped the club to a league and cup double.

And in a season-long loan at Hibernian for the 2015/16 campaign, Liam was one of the Easter Road’s outstanding performers, culminating in his contribution at Hampden to help Hibs beat Rangers 3-2 and win the Scottish Cup for the first time in 114 years.

Liam now takes up a new football challenge in Italy, and everyone at Celtic wishes him every success with Bari while also thanking him for his contribution to the club over the past few years.
