  • Moussa Dembele: Celts relishing a good battle with Aberdeen

Moussa Dembele: Celts relishing a good battle with Aberdeen

By: Tony Connelly on 22 Dec, 2017 17:01

  • MOUSSA Dembele has already scored three goals against Aberdeen in his Celtic career, and the French striker is eyeing more when the Dons arrive in Paradise tomorrow (Saturday). However, he is under no illusions that the Hoops must be at their best if they are to overcome their title rivals.

Celtic’s closest challengers throughout Dembele’s time as a Celt have been Aberdeen, with the Dons finishing as runners-up in all three competitions last season.

Derek McInnes’ side are the team once again in close pursuit of the Hoops in the Scottish Premiership but Brendan Rodgers' side know that a victory in the top-of-the-table clash at Paradise will extend their lead to eight points ahead of games against Dundee and Rangers.

Speaking to the official Match programme, Dembele said: “It will be a good game against a good team and a physical team. It will be a good battle. We know what to expect from them and we need to make sure are ready to fight and then play football.

“We have shown that we can play at any stadium in the country and we need to produce what we did in the first game against Aberdeen again. There will be more hype going into the game.

"The supporters have been great during the 18 months I’ve been here. They just keep going and are always behind us. We are at home and with a sell-out crowd the hype is bigger but we just focus on ourselves and our football and making sure we get the three points.”

Read the full and exclusive interview with Moussa Dembele ONLY in Saturday’s match programme. On sale at Celtic Park ahead of the game.
