History-chasing Celts make no changes for McDiarmid Park clash

By: Mark Henderson on 04 Nov, 2017 11:30

  • BRENDAN Rodgers has kept faith with the team that performed so impressively against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night as Celtic look to make history today against St Johnstone.

Should the Hoops avoid defeat at McDiarmid Park, they will extend their domestic unbeaten run to 63 games, which would see them break the British record set by Willie Maley’s Celtic side 100 years ago.

And the only change to the squad who faced the German giants is the omission of Leigh Griffiths on the bench, with Odsonne Edouard taking his place among the substitutes.

A win for the Scottish treble-winners in Perth will stretch their lead at the top of the table to four points ahead of the rest of today’s Scottish Premiership fixtures.

Kick-off in Perth is 12.30pm, and head to @celticfc for the pre-game build-up and live match updates as Celtic target yet another milestone under Brendan Rodgers.

CELTIC (3-4-2-1) Gordon; Lustig, Boyata, Bitton; Forrest, Brown, Armstrong, Tierney; McGregor, Sinclair; Dembele
Subs: De Vries, Gamboa, Hayes, Rogic, Ntcham, Edouard, Ajer
