Reagan Milstein Foundation becomes International Partner

By: Newsroom Staff on 09 Feb, 2017 11:46

  • THE Reagan Milstein Foundation (RMF) has become the latest Australian organisation to join the swelling ranks of the Celtic Soccer Academy International Partnership Programme.

The RMF was founded in honour of popular youngster, Reagan Milstein who tragically passed away aged just 14-years-old in July 2010. Reagan loved sports and helping people and the Foundation is a tribute to his life, designed to help others in the way Reagan would have wanted.

Based in the suburbs of Victoria, Australia, the RMF launched in November, 2010 and has since played a key role in a number of initiatives and programmes to help less fortunate children in Australia, Tonga, Albania, South Africa and many other countries.

These initiatives include; sponsoring talented youngsters, providing football equipment to less fortunate football associations, promoting social activity through football and recycling donated boots and jerseys to less fortunate children.

By becoming a Celtic International Partner they will receive benefits such as visits from Celtic coaching staff, have the chance to attend the Celtic’s International Coaches Convention in Glasgow and gain access to the curriculum showing the Celtic Way of developing players.

The new partnership will kick-off with the Celtic Soccer Academy and Reagan Milstein Foundation joining forces to host a series of coaching roadshows across Victoria, Australia during the month of April. The following dates have been confirmed, with more to follow:

    • Ballarat – Monday, April 10 – Saturday, April 15
    • Gambier – Monday, April 17 – Thursday, April 20

After being confirmed as an official International Partner, Kevin Milstein said: “The Reagan Milstein Foundation is thrilled to be able to bring an Academy with a huge reputation and fame such as the Celtic FC Academy to regional Australia.

“The most exciting aspect of this, from our point of view, is being able to bring football opportunities to country kids that would normally have to travel to the cities to get anything close. RMF is balancing the scale that normally favours city kids.

“By bringing in the RMF philosophy of “whole of community” too we can envisage ongoing benefits to regional centres over time. We thank Celtic FC Academy for sharing the dream with us.”

International Soccer Academy Manager, Tony Massie spoke of the Academy’s delight at confirming another partner in Australia and said: “It’s great that we’ve partnered with the Reagan Milstein Foundation and are looking forward to helping provide player and coach development opportunities for people in smaller communities and harder to reach areas.

“Kevin and the Foundation do a great job including people of all ability levels and it’s fantastic that we can support their venture in coaching the Celtic Way in a fantastic part of the world where interest in football is growing all the time.”

If you are involved with any Soccer Organisation or Club in Australia and would like more information on our International Partnership Programme then please contact Tony Massie on [email protected] or +44 (0) 141 551 4297.
