Australia’s Impact Soccer joins Partnership Programme ranks

By: Newsroom Staff on 08 Feb, 2017 08:57

  • CELTIC Soccer Academy are delighted to welcome Impact Soccer to its ever-growing International Partnership Programme. Impact Soccer - who hail from Melbourne, Australia - are one of the leading coaching providers in the region and will look to share methodologies, create coach education programmes and host a series of development coaching camps as part of their long-term agreement with Celtic.

The new relationship will see players and coaches from Impact visit Glasgow to experience what life is like for an Academy player at Celtic Football Club. Their coaches will also be invited to Celtic’s renowned International Coaches’ Convention in Glasgow and receive a behind the scenes look at how Celtic develop young players to reach their potential.

Impact Soccer deliver coaching programmes to over 13,000 young Australians in 80 schools across Melbourne, and specialise in school soccer development, tertiary vocational training for newly-trained coaches and elite club player development. Their unrelenting commitment to building these pathway programmes made them ideal candidates for the International Partnership Programme.

On signing the agreement, Impact Soccer’s Chief Executive Officer, Paul Nelson said: “We’re really excited about our newly-developed partnership with Celtic Soccer Academy. I believe that, in order to develop and grow youth programmes globally, more organisations need to discuss ways in which they can make the game more accessible to all.

“The combination of outstanding coaching and education is at the heart of everything we deliver. We look forward to playing a major part in the success of Celtic’s International Partnership Programme.”

Celtic FC’s International Soccer Academy Manager, Tony Massie addd: “We’re delighted to add Impact Soccer to our International Partnership Programme and it again emphasises our commitment to building relationships across the globe.

“Impact Soccer is a very ambitious and progressive organisation and we’re looking forward to a long and prosperous partnership.”
