CELTIC Football Club is pleased to announce that the club’s Youth Academy has formed a partnership with the youth academy programmes of St Louis Lions based in Missouri, USA.
The club will send Academy coaches over to the USA to work with both players and coaches to aid the clubs development.
Furthermore, it is expected that several of St Louis Lions playing squads will come to Glasgow to help their progress, with exceptionally talented players earning the opportunity to train with Celtic’s Academy squads.
The club is also excited at the opportunity to work with the club and help create a new generation of Celtic fans in the Missouri area
Celtic Head of Youth Chris McCart said: “We are absolutely delighted to confirm St Louis has signed up to this initiative and will receive visits throughout the year from our Youth Academy staff along with being handed the invitation to bring some of their players and coaching staff to observe and take part in our Youth Academy here in Glasgow.
“We want to provide life changing opportunities for coaches and players involved at this club and help to grow and develop the club to maximise their potential.”
Tony Glavin, President/Head Coach at St Louis Lions (pictured above), said: “Our affiliation with Celtic FC begins a new era of soccer in St. Louis. There will now be a clearly defined path within one organization that will offer soccer players primary training to the potential for premier league play.
“Players will have the chance to be scouted by Celtic coaches and trainers, and will travel to Scotland and the UK for play.”
The club is delighted to welcome St Louis Lions in to the Celtic Family
