    Stand up for the champions

  • CELTIC Football Club has once again made history as the installation of the first rail seating section in Scotland got underway at Paradise today (Thursday).

The club was given permission to introduce the new 3,000 capacity section at the home of the champions last summer through the installation of a rail seating system and work to clear the existing seats got underway in May this year after the Bhoys secured the SPFL Premiership title for the fifth consecutive season.

Demand from supporters for a place in the revamped area has been huge as the club embarks on a new era under manager Brendan Rodgers and the first rail seats of the new section in the North East corner of the stadium were put in place today.

Work will continue throughout the coming weeks to complete the project ahead of the start of the 2016/17 season.

The introduction of the rail seating section is seen as a significant investment in spectator safety by the club, allowing fans in the area to stand safely at matches.
