Plagued by a series of injuries since his return from the 2006 European Youth Championships, where he reached the final as part of a Scotland squad that featured six Celtic players, Ferry has endured a frustrating past two seasons. A relentless box-to-box midfielder, he has however made genuine progress at Celtic Park and when fit, has regularly been included in Gordon Strachan's first team squad for training. Now fighting back to full fitness, he has featured in the reserve team's pre-season matches in Ireland and in Scotland..
