John Kennedy
• John made his first-team debut against Motherwell in April 2000 to become the youngest ever player to play for Celtic at the age of 16 years and 231 days. However, that record was later broken by Mark Fotheringham.
• The grandson of former Celtic great, Jimmy Delaney, Kennedy had begun to establish himself in Celtic’s first-team by 2003/04 and was outstanding against Barcelona in the Nou Camp in 2004, when the Hoops knocked them out of the UEFA Cup.
• However, just after that he suffered an horrendous knee injury while playing for Scotland against Romania at Hampden which kept him out of the game for three years.
• He returned to Celtic’s first-team for the championship-winning game against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in April 2007.
• At the start of the 2007/08 season, John once again claimed a regular place in the Celtic side before picking up an injury against Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League.
• John worked his way back to fitness and started season 2008/09 on loan at Norwich. Injury curtailed his spell there but he has returned to Celtic eager to make his mark.
