• The Irish striker gave up Gaelic football in order to sign for Celtic.
• Born in County Cavan, Ireland, he made his first-team debut for the Hoops in 2006/07 in a Scottish Cup tie against Inverness Caley Thistle.
• Cillian missed most of season 2007/08 through injury but fought back to take his place in Gordon Strachan's squad for the 2008 pre-season campaign.
• Injuries to Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Georgios Samaras gave Cillian a first-team chance and he scored his first senior goal in a 4-2 win over Hibernian.
• The Irishman was then given a start against Manchester United in the 1-1 UEFA Champions League draw in November 2008.
• In January 2009, Cillian moved to Motherwell on loan in order to gain more first-team experience. He scored two goals for the Steelmen.
