As captain of the Lisbon Lions, the man known as ‘Cesar’ remains an iconic figure in Celtic’s history.

Nobody typifies what it takes to play for Celtic more than Billy, who won one European Cup, nine Scottish titles, seven Scottish Cups, six League Cups and holds the record for club appearances, without ever making a substitute appearance.

He is synonymous with Celtic’s success since the 1960s and after his playing days were over, he managed the club to further glory.

When Celtic won the League and Scottish Cup double in the Centenary season of 1988, who else but Billy could have presided over such a historic achievement?
